About the Artist

Tucker Woods is originally from the Northeastern United States. She holds a B.F.A. in Painting with additional art studies at The University of Urbino, Italy and Parsons New School in NYC. She lived and worked as an artist in both Denver and New York City prior to moving to Santa Fe ten years ago.

The light and the expansiveness of the Southwest attract her as do the stark and dramatically colorful vistas which are often reflected abstractly in her paintings. Her art is consistently based upon a Minimalist aesthetic with layer upon layer of translucent glazes and textures. Tucker's art offers the viewer a sophisticated pallette and simplicity. A quiet balance and feeling of tranquility are perfectly achieved through color, composition and texture.

Tucker's work can be found in private and corporate collections across the U.S. She is a past Member of the Board of Directors for the New Mexico Chapter of the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C.
